Julie Maddox
Pre-K Teaching Assistant
With over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, Julie Maddox brings wisdom, compassion, and creativity to the classroom every day. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Arts and has worked in several early childhood roles, including preschool teaching assistant and substitute teacher at Westminster Christian Academy and Downs Preschool. Her passion lies in laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning and helping children develop the confidence and skills they need to thrive.
Julie believes in getting to know each child individually so she can meet their needs and support their growth. She focuses on building trust, teaching children to resolve conflict, understand emotions, and care for one another. Her favorite part of the day is small group time, where she can connect more deeply with her students and guide them through new discoveries.
Outside the classroom, Julie enjoys scrapbooking, gardening, and spending time with her growing family. Her son and daughter-in-law are expecting a baby boy in September 2025, and her daughter works in the Downs Preschool Afterschool Program. She loves the collaborative environment among her fellow teachers and cherishes the chance to connect with families through school events and celebrations.
