Kim Baker
Assistant Teacher
Kim Baker brings warmth, enthusiasm, and a deep love for early learning to the Pre-K classroom. With two years of experience and a ParaPro certification in hand, she is currently working toward her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education through Western Governors University. Her passion for early childhood education stems from the joy and spontaneity that come with working alongside young children. She loves knowing each day will be filled with new experiences, fun, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in a child’s life.
Kim delights in watching her students learn and grow, especially during the critical early years when development happens at lightning speed. Her favorite moments are when she sees the wonder in a child’s face after mastering a new skill. She especially loves the housekeeping center—where students express themselves through imaginative play and mirror the adults in their lives. Her goal is that every child leaves her classroom feeling nurtured, safe, and loved, remembering not only what they learned, but how deeply they were cared for.
Originally from Texas, Kim is a big fan of the Texas Rangers and loves watching baseball with her husband and two kids. She also enjoys reading, family time, and taking her beloved Shih-Tzu, Teddy, for walks at the park. Fun fact: even though her favorite movie is Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, she actually doesn’t like chocolate! Her favorite children’s book is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein—a story that reflects her own approach to teaching: generous, kind, and rooted in love.
