Ricki Walls
Lead Teacher
With over 25 years of experience in early childhood and primary education, Ricki brings warmth, dedication, and a deep passion for helping young learners thrive. She has spent the last 23 years teaching at Masters Academy, following three years teaching first grade in Monroe. She holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and is especially drawn to thematic teaching and crafting lessons around topics that spark curiosity in children.
Her philosophy is rooted in the belief that all children are capable of learning, though each grows at their own pace. She strives to create a classroom environment where students feel safe to explore, express themselves, and develop confidence. Center time and small group interactions are her favorite parts of the day, offering meaningful moments to connect with each child. Known for modeling social-emotional skills through thoughtful conversations and role-play, she loves witnessing students achieve milestones they once found difficult.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, tailgating for UGA games, and traveling with her husband and two sons, Taylor and Tucker. Parents might be surprised to learn that her favorite insect is the dragonfly! For her, Masters Academy isn’t just a workplace—it’s a family, and she values the close-knit relationships she builds with both students and their parents.
